A Bit About Me

Let me introduce myself… I’m Susan Waters. I started teaching yoga over 6 years ago and have had the honour of offering yoga classes to the local community ever since. In addition to hatha yoga flow classes, I am qualified in and offer Yoga Nidra meditation; Pranayama; Yin Yoga; meditation and Reiki therapy. My main aim when you walk through the door is that you get the best experience possible during your time with me. I only have a small number of students in each class so you are guaranteed my individual attention if necessary, and will be guided through breathing techniques and safe and proper alignment. Do something today that your future self will thank you for. I look forward to welcoming you.

Group Classes

Group classes are small, with a maximum of 10 students, which allows for a more personal experience. You'll be offered my expert guidance on safe postural alignment, breathwork, relaxation techniques and much much more.  Classes are suitable for men and women and most levels, including beginners and those looking to refresh their practice.

Private 1-1 Sessions

Maybe you're a bit unsure about attending group classes for the first time? Or maybe you're looking for a class tailored to your individual needs? Whatever the reason, you can enjoy the privacy of 1-1 classes with me. Each session is 75 minutes. A pre-session consultation enables me to design a class around your needs and, post class, you will be given a written guide to the poses covered, including a step by step "how to" guide and the pose benefits.

Yin Yoga

While most yoga practices stretch and strengthen the muscles, Yin is a slower paced style of yoga which targets and strengthens the deeper connective tissues, e.g. ligaments, tendons, bones and joints, and complements the more active forms of yoga or exercise. Simply put "it's yoga for the joints, not the muscles". Yin is suitable for most people and consists of a series of long held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body, the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. Poses are held for up to five minutes. Some of the many benefits include:- improved joint mobility, flexibility and circulation; encourages deep relaxation and aids sleep; encourages mindfulness and brings calm to the nervous system.

Reviews

I pride myself in ensuring each and every student gets the most out of every class,  physically, mentally and emotionally. Take a look a what some of my lovely students have to say ....

Susan’s classes are fabulous and she goes out of her way to ensure everyone who attends gets the best they can out of their practice. Each visit benefits your physical and emotional health. She shares her knowledge and care in a lovely, relaxed manner in her beautiful yoga studio. Each class is a joy .

I LOVE SUSAN'S CLASSES!! I'd struggled to exercise due to an an existing injury prior to starting Yoga with Susan. Her sessions are fun and she is always able to provide specific modifications, eg. ways to support an injury or joint during a move or gently encouraging appropriate challenge. In short, I love Susan's classes and my flexibility, fitness and general wellbeing have greatly improved.

Susan's class is the best yoga class I've ever been to, and I've been to lots of classes all over the UK over the last 30 years! She is is highly competent, reassuring and attentive. She's also down to earth and engaging, making you feel very welcome in her beautifully designed and cosy studio. I love the mix of challenging but achievable poses combined with the wonderfully nurturing and soothing relaxation at the end. The Friday morning class is a real highlight of my week
